Das „von-Francois-Fort“ liegt an der Stra\u00dfe von Windhoek nach Swakopmund<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

\"dl\"Etwa 50km westlich von Windhoek, der Hauptstadt Namibias, liegt die „Curt von Fran\u00e7ois-Feste“. Von Fran\u00e7ois war Offizier der deutschen Schutztruppe in der ehemaligen Kolonie Deutsch-S\u00fcdwestafrika und er gr\u00fcndete 1890 Windhoek. Das Fort ist eine Ruine eines milit\u00e4rischen Lagers mit einer Grundfl\u00e4che von etwa 8×10 Metern und liegt auf einem H\u00fcgel. Es diente als Aussichtsposten zur \u00dcberwachung der Handelsroute zwischen Swakopmund und Windhoek.<\/p>\n

Heute ist das Fort, das unter Denkmalschutz steht, teilweise verfallen. Lediglich die aus einzelnen, aufeinander gelegten Schiefersteinen bestehenden Innen- und Au\u00dfenw\u00e4nde sind noch erhalten.<\/p>\n

\"\"About 50km west of Windhoek, Namibia’s capital, the „Curt von Fran\u00e7ois-Fortress“ is located. Von Fran\u00e7ois was officer of the German colonial force in the former German colony of South-West Africa and founded in 1890 Windhoek. The fort is a ruin of a military camp with a floor area of about 8×10 meters and is situated on a hill. It served as an observation post to monitor the trade route between Swakopmund and Windhoek.<\/p>\n

Today the fort is a listed building, partially forfeited. Only the inner and outer walls are still standing.

\"dl\"Funkbetrieb wurde nur auf 28 MHz gemacht. Als Antenne diente nun wieder die MP-1 Antenne, mit der ich in den Tagen zuvor schon gute Erfahrungen auf dem 10m Band gesammelt hatte. Das Band war gegen 14.00 Uhr Ortszeit (= 12.00 UTC) gut nach Europa offen. Allerdings herrschten dann auch Temperaturen weit \u00fcber 30 Grad und man muss sich ein schattiges Pl\u00e4tzchen suchen.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Radio operation was made only at 28 MHz. The antenna was again the MP-1 antenna with which I had in the previous days already good experience on the 10m band. The band was around 14.00 local time (= 12:00 UTC) well open to Europe. But then in this area were temperatures above 30 degrees and I had to look for a shady spot.<\/p>\n
